Performance bullwhip
This is my own bullwhip and long term test, made to specific requirements. It had to have a maximum reach of 9 feet for stage use, be thick and slow enough to be seen from more than a few rows back, have sufficient power to cut a range of targets yet be kind enough to my partner and glide smoothly without abrading her neck or snagging garments. Precise handling being sine qua non.
Built with a single 8-strand plaited belly and bolster. The 20-strand overlay is cut from thick leather to best resist impact and the point is sheathed in Dyneema. I now make this style slightly narrower and with a 12 strand belly. £475.
